Michael Jackson: A Lost Childhood

Over the years during his life, Michael Jackson fell under a whole lot of scrutiny for the fact that he liked to hang out with children. This of course, led to the allegations of child molestation because no one could understand an adult wanting to be around kids all the time. I have of course defended Michael over the years saying that he probably liked the company of children because they weren’t the type who probed people with so many questions. Michael could tell a child he had Vitiligo and the child would no doubt believe him with no questions or doubts. He probably also felt that he could trust children not to use him for money or fame, but of course there were those few times where he did get burned by a child, but it's important to remember in both of those cases there were adults involved who had their own agendas, and because kids want to please adults, especially their parents which in turn caused the problems for MichaelJackson. Then there was Michael’s own child like attitude, the fact that he wanted to live in a house that had its own amusement park and zoo. This had many believing that he had a Peter Pan complex, because he seems to refuse to grow up.

However, was there something more to this then what has been speculated by many, but suspected by few such as myself? I have said for years that the main reason why I believe Michael Jackson wanted to do the things that most kids wanted to do was because he never had a true childhood. From the time he was five years old Michael Jackson was on the stage entertaining. He didn’t get to do the things that most kids take for granted like, going to school, hanging out with their friends, playing games, going to an amusement park, playing sports, riding bikes, having slumber parties, etc.

a burned victim.
So it's no wonder when he got older he wanted to experience some of the things he missed out on, which of course led to him falling under public scrutiny, especially the slumber party part. Yet, the more we discovered about Michael Jackson after his untimely death, especially during his drug induced recorded conversation that was on Conrad Murray's phone, that Michael only seemed to have the purest of hearts in that he wanted to help sick children by building them a hospital where kids could get well and at the same time have a chance to play?

So when people call Michael Jackson a pedophile it upsets me greatly because there has never been any real, substantiated proof to justify this claim.  Maybe if the truth be known he was just someone who felt cheated out of what most of us have experienced and that is a childhood.

So is it any wonder that the adults he did have as friends were actually in a way kindred spirits who had experienced or could relate to what he himself had gone through; those who didn’t have much of a childhood either because they too were thrust into a career at a tender age, such as Elizabeth Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Shirley Temple Black, and Donny Osmond, to name a few.

So was it any wonder that Michael Jackson longed for children of his own; children whom he could give the childhood that he had so longed for himself. There was no doubt to anyone who ever saw Michael interact with his own kids in home movies or seen his kids talk about him that his three children meant everything to him. They were his whole world, prior to their existence perhaps the only time Michael Jackson ever felt truly complete was on stage performing surrounded by his fans, because this was all he had ever known.

Prince II, (a.k.a. Blanket)

So is this a true observation of Michael Jackson, was he someone who felt as if he was robbed of a childhood? Well don’t take my word for it, but that of Michael himself. Sadly during the Conrad Murray trial during that same audio recording that I mentioned earlier Michael went into his love for children, which spoke volumes of the pain he had felt over the years.  He stated and I quote:

"My performances will be up there helping my children and always be my dream. I love them. I love them because I didn’t have a childhood ... I feel their pain. I feel their hurt. I can deal with it."
Maybe Michael Jackson's love for children was just as simple and pure as that!

Neverland Ranch: Was Michael Jackson the Pied Piper in Luring Kids There?

Over the years a lot has been said about Michael Jackson's amazing estate known as Neverland Ranch. However, after the child molestation allegations in 1993' and of course 2005' something was added to what was said about this ranch as well as its famous owner. Neverland seem to get a reputation in the news media as being a place where an evil pedophile would lure innocent little children into his web. Seriously, to hear some journalist talk this was the only way to interpret it; in short it was a den of sinister evil. It would seem because Neverland had its own amusement park, train, and zoo that it had to be a place to entice children. (Huh, say what)?
Michael Jackson with his chimpanzee, Bubbles
from earlier times!
Am I one of a few who saw that Neverland wasn't created to appeal to kids as much as to its permanent resident Michael Jackson? Let's remember Michael Jackson didn't have what most would classify as a normal childhood. He didn't get to go to amusement parks, or go to the public zoo like so many kids actually did, and of course when he got older, it was still impossible for him to do these thing due to his enormous fame. So because he was never able to do these things, he chose to give these things to himself, nothing sinister in that is there?

All right so some could argue that we know that a lot of kids visited Neverland Ranch, right? In fact, there are videos of kids being at Neverland with Michael Jackson, and then wife Lisa Marie Presley.

Michael Jackson with then wife, Lisa Marie Presley
from earlier times at Neverland Ranch.
Okay, yes kids visited Neverland I won't dispute that, but if you were to research this you would discover that most of these kids were from the "Make a Wish Foundation", an organization which grants wishes to children who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses. Michael Jackson was an avid supporter of the "Make a Wish Foundation" and allowed this organization to bring many of their kids to Neverland as part of their wishes and dreams to do so. Now will someone please tell me if they can, what is so sinister about the "Make a wish Foundation"?  The last time I checked they were a highly respectable, and their reputation is flawless to say the least.

Michael Jackson with a young boy by the name of Farcas,
who he helped get a liver transplant to save the child's life.
The funny thing is when you listen to these descriptions of Neverland from the news media; there is of course, no mention of the "Make a Wish Foundation". To hear the news media talk Michael Jackson had a bus that he drove around looking for innocent unsuspecting kids, lured them onto the bus, and then took them to Neverland Ranch to do sick and twisted things to them. In short he was considered by the news media to be a stranger danger of sorts who enticed little kids. A regular Pied Piper wouldn't you say?

Michael Jackson always had a love for children.
He saw them as our future.
The odd thing is not only is the "Make a Wish Foundation" not mentioned in these lurid descriptions, but neither is the fact that these kids parents or adult generally chaperoned their kids while there. It was also never discussed that it was usually Neverland that the kids were there to see and not Jackson, unless it was part of the terminally ill child's request, then Michael would make it a point to meet the child or children and then leave them to have fun. In short, there was zero proof of anything else ever happening.

The news media always wanted to make it out to be more than it was.  They always wanted to sensationalize the story by questioning Michael's motives and actions by saying what grown man would want to have slumber party with a bunch of kids. What grown man does this? Michael Jackson owned a place that had its own amusement park and zoo, and what grown man owns this? Wait! We know what sort of grown man does this, the kind who is up to no good, right?  That's what the news media wants all of us to think. Well, guess what… there is another type of person and Michael Jackson falls under this type, the type who never had a real childhood, and personally I feel if the man wanted to go out and play, I think he deserved his right to do just that, don't you?  I mean, think about this for a moment, why do most adults want to have their own children?  They might have many reasons, but I am sure one of them is so that they can go out and play with them, and in doing so can play also without having anyone question it.

Michael Jackson: Did He Just Want to Hang Out With Kids? (Part 2 of 2)

In Part 1 of this blog I mentioned Bob Jones Book ("Michael Jackson:  The Man Behind the Mask"). I must admit I haven't really liked giving reference to this book, because for me this book is nothing more than the ramblings of a disgruntled ex-employee. I know I have said that before in regards to Bob Jones, but it can't be said enough believe me. Yes, I have given some credence to Jones and given him credit for writing some stuff that did make some sense, such as the reason Michael Jackson ultimately married his second wife Debbie Rowe, which I talked about in a previous blog entry entitled: "MichaelJackson's Second Wife:  Did She ReallyLove Him?  (Part 1 of 3)

Once again, I still find most of this book unbelievable as the stuff I'm about to go into now. As stated, Bob Jones accused Michael Jackson in this book of only wanting to hang out with kids, he stated once the kids got older Michael would get rid of them. So is there any truth to this?

Let's take a closer look and see.  Now, I know the day before Michael Jackson's death it was reported that his long time friend, Miko Brando, the son of Marlon Brando was at the "This is It" rehearsal with him.  Now the last time I checked Miko was not a child, right?  He is a grown man, and he and Michael have been good friends for years.  Then there was another report that Michael had co-written a comic book with Dr. Deepak Chopra's son, Gotham in March of 2009', to whom he first met when he was a teenager, but now Gotham is in his thirties.  Their friendship has obviously continued regardless of the fact that Gotham is now older.
Sample of the Comic Book Michael Jackson and
Gotham Chopra wrote together.
Then in 2001' when Michael performed at his fortieth anniversary in show business concert actor, Macaulay Culkin was there and sat next to Elizabeth Taylor.  There is a photo of him and Michael having a conversation.
(See photo below at this event).

Michael Jackson and Macaulay Culkin in 2001'
Macaulay also testified in Michael Jackson's 2005' child molestation trial defending his longtime friend.

(See photo below)
Macaulay Culkin arriving in 2005' at Michael Jackson's
Child Molestation Trial to defend his friend.
As many of you know Michael first met Macaulay Culkin when he was a young kid and now that Macaulay is older that they had remained friends.  Macaulay was also seen at Michael Jackson's private funeral at Forest Lawn Cemetery with his girlfriend.

(See photo below)
Macaulay Culkin an his girlfriend at Michael Jackson's

Then there was comic, Chris Tucker who Michael has a longtime friendship with and they even did the video together, "You Rock My World".

The last time I check Christ Tucker was well over eighteen years old.  Marlon Brando and Miko Brando were also featured in this production as well.  Also, let's not forget a person by the name of Dave Dave.  Michael met this guy when he was very young due to a story Jackson had heard about this boy's father setting him on fire and severely burning him.  Dave Dave appeared on "Larry King Live on CNN news" and talked about how he and Michael had remained friends throughout the years.  And, yes Dave Dave is way over twenty-one years old now.

And as much as many of us might not want to acknowledge this Michael Jackson and Dr. Conrad Murray had become friends.  They met in 2006' and their friendship grew.  Now granted I only have Murray's take on this, but it does seem somewhat logical, since Michael obviously trusted this man with his life.  It's too bad that the trust was short lived.

So the question still remains did Michael Jackson just want to hang out with kids?  My take on this is no, but in the same breath I think the reason Michael probably liked being around kids at times is because they didn't treat him like a superstar and that they didn't want anything from him like most adults did.  I think he also found a part of his childhood that he was missing.  It was stated in his 2005' child molestation trial that a note written by Jackson in one of his books, which was seized amongst the police raided items read:

"Look at the true spirit of happiness and joy in these boys faces this is the spirit of Boyhood.  A life I never had and will always dream of." (Michael Jackson)

Michael Jackson: Did He Just Want to Hang Out With Kids? (Part 1 of 2)

In this blog entry I want to set straight something that Michael Jackson's ex-public relations manager Bob Jones wrote about in his tell all book:  "Michael Jackson: The Man Behind the Mask".  Now normally I wouldn't give so much creedence to Mr. Jones but this is something I felt I needed to.  In this book Bob Jones accused Michael Jackson of only wanting to hang out with kids. He stated in this book that Michael had no adult friends.  He went on to say that once the kids got older Michael would get rid of them. (Huh, this is a man who worked for Michael Jackson for 30 years, right? So why do I feel like I know Michael Jackson better than he does, and I never even met Michael.

The reason I say I feel I know Michael Jackson better is because I know that he did indeed have adult friends, some his own age, others who were older. Here is a list of some of Michael's friends.

Elizabeth Taylor: Do I really need to explain any further, three blog entries were devoted to this friendship, that's how close she and Michael were.

Marlon Brando: Legendary screen actor became good friends with Michael. In fact it's been reported that Michael helped pay for Brando's medical bills toward the end of his life, because Brando was unable to do so himself.

Miko Brando: Marlon's son and a very dear close friend of Michael's who was around his own age. Miko appeared in Michael's film "Moonwalker" and was one of the people who came to his aid when Michael had that horrendous accident filming the Pepsi commercial where Jackson was severely burned. Miko was also at the Staple Center for Jackson's "This Is It" rehearsal the night before Michael would be found dead the following day. So there's has been a long and lasting friendship.

Donny Osmond: Once again an entire blog entry has been devoted to this friendship. Michael and Donny were the same age, both singers, and both grew up in the limelight. Their friendship endured over all those years, and whenever one needed the other they were there for each other.  In fact, Donny stated he had talked to Michael just two weeks before the untimely death of the Superstar Icon.

Brett Ratner:  who is a director/producer became good friends with Michael.  They were around the same age.  Michael stated in his Private Home movies he liked Brett because he was a person who liked to have a good time and goof around. (I know what Michael is talking about here because I have a friend like that and I think its good to have someone like that around just to be able to let loose and get rid of the stress in your life).

Gotham Chopra: the son of life guru, Deepak Chopra who met Michael through his father.  They became friends and from what I found out during early 2009' they apparently wrote a comic book story together.

Barry Gibb: one of the brothers to the famous group, The Bee Gees.  Michael and Barry were such good friends that Barry because godfather to Michael's kids.

Diana Ross: A bit older then Michael, and was the one who first introduced the Jackson 5 to the public while she was also with Motown Records. Michael would later go on to co-star with her in the musical film, "The Wiz". Over the years apparently their friendship remained, so much so that he actually named her as the secondary guardian to his children in his Last Will and Testament.

Liza Minnelli: Daughter of screen legend Judy Garland, and film producer Vincente Minnelli, and a talented performer in her own right. She and Michael had apparently been very close friends, in fact when she married her last husband it was Michael who gave her away at the wedding.

Gregory Peck: Another great screen legend, who was also a friend of Michael's along with his wife. There is actually a hilarious story about them visiting the Neverland amusement park, which tells you how close they must have been.

video

Shirley Temple Black:  This was a person that Michael could obviously relate to since Shirley Temple was someone who grew up in the spotlight at a very early age just like Jackson.  There're friendship probably grew from their own experience of having to grow up faster than the average kid and to basically have ones childhood taken from them.  I'm sure this bonded their friendship.

Frank Casio:  This was someone that Michael hung out with a lot at Neverland.  He even gave him an assistant job.  From what I gathered from Bob Jones, he was not someone that Jones liked very much.  Jones often referred to him in his book as that Casio kid.  In Frank Casio's book: "My friend, Michael", it was definitely depicted as a good friendship, the kind that many of us have when we can declare someone to be our best friend.  (This blogger knows what that's like since I have such a friend in my life).

This is just a small sample of the friends that Michael had that were his own age or older. I'm sure that many of you saw somewhat of a pattern here though, because we saw either singers or film stars. Well I think the singers are self explanatory, they related to Michael and him to them. As for the film stars, as many of us know Michael was a film buff, so he no doubt idolized these people and when he got to actually meet them found someone he not only admired but found he had things in common with.

Now as for the allegation of Bob Jones that once the kids got older Michael would cut them out of his life. Is this true? Well we'll take a closer look at this allegation in the next blog entry so stay tune for
Part 2.

Michael Jackson and the 1993' Child Molestation Allegations (Part 5 of 5)

So where are all of these people now?

Michael Jackson:  As I'm sure all of you know that it was reported that the singer passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2009 from an overdose of anesthesia (Propofol) that was given to him by his doctor at the time, (Dr. Conrad Murray), who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter against the pop star, and is currently serving a four year jail sentence.

June Chandler: the mother of the supposed victim ended up divorcing her second husband, Dave Schwartz, who was the owner of the business, "Rent-a-Wreck", where Michael Jackson's journey with all of this began when his car broke down and he ended up here.  June Chandler ended up losing custody of her son who went to live with his father (Evan Chandler).  I couldn't find anything out about their daughter on whether she also went to live with her father as well.

Evan Chandler:  He got custody of his son, the supposed victim, after all of the dust settled in the 1993' Child Molestation Allegations against Jackson.  Of course, as I stated there was an agreement that settled this to which we were never privy to until the 2005' allegations and court case came about.  Evan Chandler later committed suicide in November of 2009', just a little over four months after Michael Jackson's death.  My understanding is he shot himself in the head.  Many speculated on why he did it.  Some say it was because the man had a terminal illness.  There were some that thought he did it because of his guilt at what he had done to Michael Jackson.  Some even thought he probably didn’t' give Jackson much thought over the years after he took the money from the agreement settlement.

Personally, from what I know the man had been battling an illness for almost seventeen years, and I would have thought if this was the deciding factor for him committing suicide that you would have thought he would have done it years ago, not just four months after Michael Jackson's death.  To me this speaks volumes whether you agree with me or not.  I mean, think about it, what was the thing that was going strong right about that time in November?  If you guessed the "This Is It" documentary was in theatres to a huge success, you guessed right!  I think Evan Chandler probably discovered right there and then that he hadn't destroyed Michael Jackson the way he had set out to do way back in 1993', but only to find out that Jackson was just as much loved in death as he had been in life.  In the end I truly wonder who really did win in all of this?

Jordan Chandler (aka: Jordie): Who had been the alleged victim of child molestation.  My understanding is that when Jordie went to live with his father he eventually discovered that living with his father wasn't all that it was cracked out to be.  He had many issues with his father, and ended up emancipating from him to get away from what he classified as a hostile environment.  I also understand that Jordie had to change his name several times.  He also had to move many times due to Michael Jackson fans harassing him.  He chose not to testify against Jackson during the 2005' trial by leaving the country where he could not be subpoenaed to do so.

*********************************************

So to end I just want all of you to think about something that Michael Jackson's sister Janet said during an interview in regards to these allegations against her brother and this settlement and I quote, "If this were to happen to a child of mine, there wouldn't be any amount of money you could pay me."

In the end, I'm sure you can all agree with the fact that in this case money didn't buy happiness, now did it?

Blood money never does!!!!

Michael Jackson and the 1993' Child Molestation Allegations (Part 4 of 5)

In this blog entry I want to talk about the 1993' Agreement that Michael Jackson signed, which had the charges of child molestation dismissed against him.  Many people at the time thought that because he signed this agreement that it in some way made him guilty of this crime and that he in some way was able to pay his way out of it.

First, let me just say that Michael Jackson isn’t the only celebrity as stated in the previous blog entry who settle out of court over supposed charges.  Celebrities are always paying something to someone just so they don’t have to deal with the time involved in fighting what is being thrown at them.  In the case of Michael Jackson, he basically settled this because he didn’t have the time or energy to fight these so called charges.  Secondly, what many of us at the time weren’t privy to was that this case would have never gone to court due to the lack of evidence that came from the investigation.

Then, thirdly the agreement that was agreed upon was kept private.  The privacy part of the agreement came from the family that brought the charges against Jackson.  Part of the agreement required no parties to discuss it and so we were all left wondering.  Many had just decided that Jackson was guilty because he settled.  It wouldn’t be until the 2005’ Child Molestation case that Michael Jackson fought in court where we became privy to what was in the 1993’ agreement.  If you weren’t following this at the time, (CLICK HERE to view AGREEMENT).

As you can see the agreement at no time mentions the molestation of a child in it.  If anything it mentions on Page 5, Paragraph 2 (1st sentence) of the agreement the following: "This shall not be construed as an admission by Jackson that he acted wrongfully with respect to minor, Evan Chandler or June Chandler, or any other person or at all, or that the minor, Evan Chandler or June Chandler have any rights whatsoever against Jackson", as the reason for settling this case.  Another interesting thing in this agreement appeared on Page 7, Paragraph 2 (Letter g), states a claim of negligence and not for claims of intentional or wrongful acts of child molestation was the reason given for the agreement. The amount in question as the settlement has always been debated by the news media, but in this agreement it was a little over 15 million dollar, but in the 2005’ court case it was stated in testimony that the amount was around 20 million dollars and that this amount was not paid by Jackson but by an insurance policy that the singer had in regards to any liabilities being brought against him.

As I thought about this I have to admit at the time in 1993' when Michael Jackson had settled this it left me wondering since I didn’t know anything that was in the agreement at the time.  Did I ever at this time think he was guilty of this crime?  My answer would be NO!  The reason I can say that is I always believed that if this agreement stated he was guilty of child molestation that the District Attorney would have been able to use this document as a confession and then would have had the evidence that had been lacking from the beginning.  So I always knew that the agreement couldn’t have had this information in it.

The other reason I figured the document couldn’t have had a confession in it because it would have had to force the District Attorney’s office to arrest the parents of the victim for putting a price on their child being molested.  I didn’t see that, so I just figured whatever was in the agreement it couldn’t implicate anyone.

Now as many of you know this 1993' charge seemed to follow Michael Jackson around for what would be the rest of his life.  It wasn’t enough that he was found innocent of all charges in the 2005’ child molestation case that had been brought against him by the District Attorney in California at the time.  It seemed that none of that matter.  The damage of 1993' would always in some way or form label Michael Jackson as a child molester.

As I thought about this the one thing that came to mind was the privacy clause on the 1993' agreement back then and how the news media massacred him.  So, I would say in the end the family that brought these accusations against Jackson was pretty slick.  Think about it, they managed to walk away with close to 20 million dollars and Michael Jackson could never say what he actually admitted to in the agreement he made with them.

I think the other interesting thing here is that if there hadn’t have been a 2005’ case brought against him we still would not know what was in the 1993’ agreement.  So as bad as the 2005; case was for Jackson, in a way it was good because it brought forth the disclosure of what was in the 1993’ agreement, of course, the only problem is that not everyone who witnessed this trial took the time to really study what really went on in this trial.  Most people got their information by the news media and not the actual court transcript where they would have discovered all of this. I will be discussing the 2005’ court case after this series of parts on the 1993' allegations. It will be then that I will link the 2005’ court transcripts.

So stay tune for Part 5 of 5 of this series where I'll discuss where all of the key players in this agreement are today.

Michael Jackson and the 1993' Child Molestation Allegations (Part 3 of 5)

So who was Evan Chandler anyway?  Well, he was the ex-husband to June Chandler, and Jordan and his sister were his legal children.  Evan Chandler was a practicing dentist at the time when he met Michael Jackson.  What started out as a genuine friendship for many reasons went sour.  My understanding of what happened was that Michael was spending a lot of time with Jordan and his sister, along with their mother June and her current husband Dave Schwartz.  What I was able to gather was that Dr. Chandler didn't like it.  He especially didn't like the amount of time that his children were spending with the Pop Star.  I think on many levels Dr. Chandler probably felt as if he might be losing his family.  One reason why I think this is because it was during the time of his so called charges against Michael Jackson for child molestation; he was trying to get full custody of his children from his ex-wife June.

It was interesting being a spectator of all of this during this time.  As I stated in previous blog entries Michael Jackson was only two years older than me, so I remember this time back in 1993' quite well.  I remember when the child molestation allegations came out.  I have to admit at the time I was shocked!  But, I can truly say that I never ever believed it.  Even when the 2003' charges came about and the notorious 2005' court trial hit the television waves did I ever believe that Michael Jackson was a child molester?  There was always this voice in the back of my mind that wanted to know what was really going on here?

If you're reading this and you're not up on Michael Jackson and the 1993' child molestation allegations then you need to know that Michael settled this without ever heading into a court.  Many felt at the time that the fact Michael Jackson settled this out of court that he was somehow guilty.  The fact that he settled this, does that really make him guilty of the charge of child molestation?  There is a percentage that thinks it does, but let's be honest there have been many celebrity types that have settled out of court just to get it out of their hair.  It's not that their happy to have to pay a large sum of money to someone but more like just getting on with their lives.  Celebrities have it tough enough when dealing with any kind of law suit whether justified or not.  They aren't like you and me where the media probably would hardly give us the time or day, but as a celebrity anything that sounds juicy they can't seem to get off of it.  It generally will be splattered all over the place.

So I can only imagine when Dr. Chandler came forward and accused Michael Jackson of child molestation what that did to the new media.  Heck, I was watching as a spectator and I can tell you it was plastered everywhere.  It didn't seem to matter that a person is innocent until proven guilty.  The news media had Jackson tar and feathered before he could say not guilty.

So how could a man like Dr. Evan Chandler even suspect that Michael had molested his child?  My understanding is that Jordan never actually told him or his mother anything in regards to such a claim, it was more like  Dr. Chandler being a dentist gave Jordan a drug that is used in dentistry which can cause the power of suggestion to be quite strong in its patients.  My understanding is Dr. Chandler gave Jordan this drug and his son supposedly told him about Michael Jackson touching him inappropriately.  Now whether this was Jordan's own words, or Dr. Chandler planting the idea I really can't say since I wasn't actually there.

And, since I wasn't there personally there was, although someone who was working at the time for the lawyer who was helping Dr. Chandler with this case.  This person was a temporary legal secretary at the time and her name was Geraldine Hughes.  Ms. Hughes wrote a book, "Redemption:  The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations". (It's an amazing read if you really want to get a true first-hand account from someone who was actually there.  I would say it's a must read).

The one thing I do know about that time was when Michael Jackson had settled this out of court I have to admit I was stunned.  I heard a percentage of people say that I guess if you commit a crime and you're famous you can get away with anything.  Now I have a hard time believing that, especially when I understand that a large settlement of money exchanged hands.  The amount in question has been highly debated over the years.  I heard 15 million, 18 million, 20 million, and even 25 million dollars was paid to Jordan's family as a settlement.  The other thing I understand is that it wasn't Michael Jackson who paid this amount but an insurance company.  This amount would come up later in the 2005' case that Michael would have to face, and the amount stated was 20 million.

The other thing that was interesting in all of this was that Michael stated after the fact, that he couldn't discuss any part of it because that was part of the settlement agreement.  I thought that was quite strange at the time.  I always wondered why that was, but I guess in the end it was more his business than mine.  Of course, I think because of the gag order, so to speak, it ended up causing Michael more harm than good since he was never truly able to debate his innocence by discussing what was in the settlement agreement.

So did this end up truly hurting Michael Jackson?  At the time probably, but the man always seemed to pick himself up and brush himself off and start all over again.  At the time of the agreement Michael was trying to get over a drug addiction to pain pills due to some scalp surgery that he had had to try to correct some scars from some burns that he had endured from a Pepsi commercial that had gone wrong years ago.  This addiction Michael stated was the reason he didn't want to fight this. (CLICK HERE to view video of statement Michael gave to the public at the time).

So in the end he settled and shortly after that he married Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the late singing great, Elvis Presley.

What many of us at the time didn't know was what was actually in this settlement agreement, and we wouldn't find out until many years later when Michael would once again face allegations of child molestation in 2003', which would lead to a public trial in 2005', and I might add one of the biggest news frenzies that I had ever witnessed.
Stay tune for Part 4 of 5, where I'll discuss the 1993' agreement between Michael Jackson and Dr. Evan Chandler that eventually came out in the 2005' trial.

Michael Jackson and the 1993' Child Molestation Allegations (Part 2 of 5)

In Part 1, I started to tell you where all of this began with Michael Jackson's car breaking down.  Michael ended up at a car rental place: "Rent-a-Wreck", which was owned by a Dave Swartz. He was married to June Chandler at the time, who is the mother of the alleged victim, Jordan (Jordie) Chandler.  Dave Swartz was June Chandler's second husband at the time.

What I find interesting about this story so far since I've been researching all of this is, 1.) How did Michael Jackson ever end up in this car rental place?  (Yes, I know his car broke down), but 2.) Where were his body guards at in all of this? 3.) Why would Michael Jackson need to rent a car, anyway?  In 1993' the man could have bought a fleet of cars, right?
So, what was he doing in this rent a car establishment to start with anyway? Many thought that Michael was set up from the get go, and you have to wonder just by looking at where this story began if in fact this is indeed true.
Anyway, Michael did end up at the rental car place where Dave Swartz took full advantage of the situation.  My understanding is he called his wife on the phone and told her to bring their son, Jordan down to his business to meet the superstar, since he apparently knew that his stepson was a Jackson fan.

The meeting of Michael and Jordan from my understanding was brief, but created a bond from the very beginning.  Michael not only bonded with Jordan but his sister as well.

June Chandler and her two kids would later say that Michael had become like family to them.  She stated in the 2005' court trial, where she testified that Michael and her kids had traveled all over together.  In this same testimony June Chandler stated that Michael Jackson was just a regular guy and very down to earth.  She said that he was nothing like the peculiar, masked superstar he let everyone see.

Anyway, back to when this all began, shortly after Michael's brief meeting with Jordan at the "Rent-a-Wreck" establishment he started calling the child and went on to arrange for Jordan, and his family to come to Neverland for a visit.

Little did Michael know at the time, but Jordan and his sister's legal father (Evan Chandler), had other plans for him.

Stay tune for Part 3, where I'll discuss the relationship that Michael had with Evan Chandler at the beginning and how it started to unravel.
